Today was our first day of field work here in Fiji. We’re all exhausted from diving, interviewing, and processing fish samples. So I’m afraid all I have for you is some envy-inducing photos. (I promise to post more about the science soon!).
We drove out this morning across flat calm, perfect blue ocean. For a couple of our team members this is their first time being on and in tropical waters and seeing their reaction to this beautiful place has been amazing. Some of us are hardened old marine biologists who’ve seen this sort of scene many times before, but it never fails to thrill.
Joshua Drew getting ready for an interview with me (And yeah, we’re standing in beautiful clear water water, with an island inhabited by giant fruit bats behind us).
